POSITION AVAILABLE:

Kuli Teacher

Kuli Business is a Nalderun-run program supporting young men aged 12–25. We take them out on Country and for fun activities with the intention of fostering connection to Country, Culture and Community. We are looking for a teacher to work alongside Uncle Rick and First Nations Youth.

  • VIT registered teacher and hold a full car licence

  • Available to work three-four Wednesdays per term (6-hour shifts) and full attendance at the camp each year (3 days, 2 nights) @ $71 p/h CRT rates. May be scope for more hours.

  • Additional paid hours for co-ordination, report-writing and preparation.

  • Collect and drive a 12-seater van (regular car license suffices).

  • Shop and prepare food for excursions

  • Develop documentation including permission forms and DET risk assessments.

  • Work alongside First Nations Youth to plan and organise Kuli Business and to engage with Elders and other organisations.

  • Capacity to connect with unconditional positive regard in a non-hierarchical way and provide non-judgemental wellbeing support and referral as required.

  • Maintain relationships with Castlemaine Secondary College including planning excursions and camps and arranging to come into schools to meet students.

  • Prioritise relationships and work in a strengths-based culturally informed way aligned with Nalderun's approach.
